Too Early for Christmas?

Is it too early for Christmas? The local 97.5 has been playing the holiday tunes ever since Halloween ended, and the Holiday trees are being sold at Lowe's with lights since about that same time...

still, it's tough to get excited about something almost two months away, so instead I'll share this photo of Caroline, Rachael and Timmy that Carol took while visiting a Bucks County store. Now THAT can almost get me excited for Christmas!

15 years ago I interviewed with a young woman named Dale Perkel. She was a social worker at St. Christopher's Hospital, and I was a sophomore student at La Salle University. Dale also was the volunteer director of Camp Can Do, a summer camp for children with cancer. My interview for a position of volunteer counselor led to an offer to spend the first week of August in Gretna, PA in the summer of 1992. Mike Gilbert (another La Salle sophomore student) and I went, had a great time, and so a tradition, for me, was born. In the next fifteen years, I went to camp ten years or so, watching campers from my first year later join me as volunteer counselors and even as a director. A great camp, one I encourage you to find more about. For those that joined me during those years, I thank you. Thank you for being part of something whose memory still gives me energy today. And for those reading this for the first time, feel free to check out the ACS website for the camp at :
